Jewelry Care Guide

TEFNUT'S pieces are designed to be worn with intention and cared for with attention.
To preserve the beauty and longevity of your jewelry, we recommend following the care guidelines below.

Plated Jewelry

Our pieces are crafted with gold-plated, silver-plated or dark rhodium-plated finishes. Over time, and depending on use, plated jewelry may naturally experience changes in appearance.

Proper care will help preserve the finish and extend the life of your piece.

Avoid Contact With

To protect the plating, avoid exposing your jewelry to:

  • Water and humidity
  • Perfumes and cosmetics
  • Lotions or oils
  • Chlorine or salt water
  • Household cleaning products

We recommend putting on your jewelry after applying perfume or skincare products.

Remove Before Activities

To prevent damage or premature wear, remove your jewelry before:

  • Showering or swimming
  • Exercising or sports activities
  • Sleeping
  • Cleaning or household tasks

Storage

When not wearing your jewelry:

  • Store pieces in a dry place
  • Keep them in the original pouch or jewelry box
  • Avoid storing pieces together to prevent scratches

Keeping jewelry away from humidity helps preserve the plating.

Cleaning

To clean your jewelry:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth
  • Gently wipe the surface after wearing

Do not use abrasive cloths, polishing chemicals, or jewelry cleaning solutions, as they may damage the plating.

Natural Wear

Because plated jewelry contains a layers of precious metal over a base material, gradual wear of the plating may occur over time depending on frequency of use and care.

This natural process is not considered a manufacturing defect.
